Carpal Tunnel is a relatively common, chronic, and disabling condition. The characteristics are nighttime pain of the hand, finger paresthesias in the median nerve, and thenar muscle atrophy.
This disorder occurs most often between the ages of 30 and 60 and more often in women than men. The dominant hand is affected frequently; however, 32 -50 % of cases occur bilaterally.
